View Progress Updates The Compulsory Purchase Order and the Environmental Impact Statement for the Scheme were published in October 2003. An oral hearing was held by An Bord Pleanála in February 2004 and the Scheme was approved in May 2004.
Contract Documents for the Scheme have been prepared by Arup Consulting Engineers. Advance works have taken place to facilitate the main Contract which includes accommodation works and service diversions. Further ground investigation works were completed in 2007.
Cork City Council accepted the Tender from SIAC Construction Ltd on the 8th of June 2011 and the formal signing of the Contract took place in the Lord Mayor’s Office on the 23rd of June 2011. The Contractor has started on site and the contract duration is expected to be less than 2 years.
