The proposed works are located on the N20 National Primary Route from the Annabella Roundabout in Mallow to a point approximately 2km south of this. A temporary roadworks speed limit of 60km/hr will be in operation on both carriageways of the N20, from its junction with the R638 in Quartertown Upper to a point 150m south of the Annabella Roundabout.
The overlay works include the removal of failed sections of pavement, subsequent strengthening of these sections and resurfacing with bituminous macadam. Works also include storm water drainage, new footpaths and kerbs, tree surgery, roadside drainage works, traffic signs and road markings and traffic management. The Mallow Southern Approach Overlay Scheme is substantially complete. The final elements of resurfacing will coincide with the completion of the bridge works.
The bridge rehabilitation works include the replacement of the existing parapet and installation of a new vehicle restraint system in the north bound lane. The works will be substantially complete by May 2021. Two-way traffic will be maintained for the duration of the works.
The timeline is subject to change as the works are weather dependent and complex in nature.
