The Cork National Roads Office (NRO) is a local authority shared service in collaboration with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) in respect of national roads within Cork City and Cork County. Cork County Council (CCC) have been designated by TII as the lead road authority for the administration of the Cork NRO.

Cork City Northern Transport Project

The Cork City Northern Transport Project has not been allocated funding in 2024.

Project Info:

Cork City Northern Transport Project (formally the Cork North Ring Road) has been included in the National Development Plan 2021 – 2030.

“The Cork City Northern Transport Project is a complementary project to the N/M20 Cork to Limerick project and is part of the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy. Consultants have been appointed by Cork City Council to carry out early appraisal and examine route selection options.”

Atkins have been appointed to provide technical consultancy services to progress the CCNTP to Phase 2 of the TII Project Management Guidelines. A dedicated project website has now been developed to provide updates on the CCNT Project. The project website will be used to publish the project updates as the project develops. There has also been a dedicated email address developed so the public can submit any queries they may have on the project. This email address will also be used for the submission of feedback as the project develops through the public consultation process.
