Project Background
Cork County Council are in the early stages of development for the Bandon of the West Cork Greenways Project. This project, which is funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), aims to provide a Greenway between the towns of Crossbarry and Clonakilty via Bandon with a link to Timoleague. RPS has been appointed to provide multi-disciplinary engineering and other specialist consultancy services to progress the project through the design process. The project team will endeavor to co-ordinate with the Cork to Kinsale Greenway team to ensure connectivity between both projects.
What’s Happening Now
This project is currently at Phase 1 Concept and Feasibility. The purpose of Phase 1 is to develop and investigate in further detail the feasibility of the project, to identify a suitable study area for the examination of preliminary options and to implement the project management structure.
Public Consultation No.1 on the study area will took place between 13th May and 14th June 2024. The project team would like to thank the Stakeholders and members of the public who summitted their feedback. From this feedback the project team has published a Public Consultation report which is linked below.
The objective of this report is to detail the public consultation process and to record the feedback given during the first non-statutory public consultation for the West Cork Greenways Bandon Sections project. This early public consultation aimed to generate awareness of the project with local communities around the project study area and get feedback on the project proposals.
