N71 Bandon Southern Relief Road Extension – Public Consultation (Phase 2 – Public Consultation 01)
Cork County Council has proposed a Road Scheme “N71 Bandon Southern Relief Road Extension Scheme” for the town of Bandon. This scheme will comprise an extension of the existing relief road, varying from 1 to 7 km in length to the south and west of Bandon, depending on the preferred option and will also include improvements to active travel infrastructure. The N71 provides a critical transportation link for the West Cork economy, its improvement strongly supported in the Cork County Development.
The project is being progressed in accordance with Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s Project Management Guidelines. Currently, the project is at Phase 2 Stage 1, and by the end of Phase 2, an Emerging Preferred Option will be identified.
What’s Happening Now
Phase 2 – Public Consultation 01
Cork County Council now invites the residents of the local area, members of the public and other interested parties to review and offer comments and views on the preliminary corridor options. Local participation in this consultation is welcome, and the Design Team will consider any feedback and submissions received prior to finalising the options for subsequent appraisal.
The proposed Preferred Option Public Consultation will be advertised in advance.
